Faith...Trust

Every breath and step we take is of faith. Early in the morning, we trust the alarm clock to ring and wake us up. We sit on the chair, trusting that it won't give way. We take the lift and trust that it doesn't break down. We take the bus and trust that the bus driver will drive you to your destination safely. We walk in the building, trusting that it won't collapse. The list goes on.

Learnt a lesson on faith and trust the past few days/weeks. It's been a trying time but i thank God for everything that happened because it taught me a precious lesson -faith.

Without faith, we can do nothing pleasing in God's sight
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him.." Hebrews 11:6

With faith, we can move mountains.

"..Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If you have faith as a mustard seed,ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place;and it shall remove;and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20

"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass." Psalms 37:5

"In God have have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me." Psalms 57:11

" The fear of the man brings a snare. But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe" Proverbs 29:25

"Every word of God is pure: He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him." Proverbs 30:5

Rather than having faith in man that makes mistakes, why not trust the Almighty God that makes no mistake?
Sometimes things seem bleak and impossible but sometimes it just takes a step of faith.

A simple step of faith.
"For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37

Trust and obey, for there's no other way.

Making decisions? Whose call?

Well, the past few weeks have been pretty busy, getting used to and fitting into VJ. Firstly, just wanna say that VJ has been great, the school, the school spirit, the people and all. But it's been quite tough trying to adapt and get used to it. It's really quite different from secondary school I must say, and secondary school don't really prepare you well for JC, academically as well.

But oh well, it's been an interesting experience stepping into VJ, and I thank God for that.

The past few weeks required alot of decision making and none of them was an easy one to make. Despite reading through this chapter quite a number of times, didn't notice this verse but as I was reading it yesterday, simple as it was, it touched my heart.
" A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps" Proverbs 16:9
Man can plan and devise his own ways but God is the one who directs the step. Thankfully, things can take place in this way rather than the other way round. We can devise our own ways but it's still in the mind or by words and not action but directing the step, means taking action. Once the step/action is taken it can't been taken back. Thank God that it is the God that makes no mistakes that direct each step.

This brought to mind another verse, " For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8,9

Making decisions, easy ones, tough ones, they all need to be made with the wisdom from above.

Lord, I need Your wisdom. Lord, I need You. Help me never to rely on my own wisdom, my own strength, but to lean and trust You in every decision, every step of the way. Nothing of myself, all of You. Keep my eyes on You alone. Keep me so close to You. Help me to live the life that You want me to live, that I may testify of Your fame and glory where ever I am. Break me, Lord. Use me. I love You Lord. In Jesus's name, Amen.
