He gives and takes away

He gives and takes away
Perhaps He has taken away more, in quantity at least
It hurts because it matters
But more importantly,
If it matters to me, I know it matters to Him.

He has taken away,
but He has given as well
Perhaps relatively less in quantity
but more in other ways
And I'm thankful for that.

When you can't trace His hand, trust His heart
He knows best.
